Making Our Farms Safer at Dederang

A VICTORIAN Farmers' Federation (VFF) initiative, Making Our Farms Safer (MOFS) is the leading resource for all aspects of farm safety.

Offering their services free of charge to Victorian farmers, MOFS provides on-farm visits, downloadable training checklists, safety templates, policies, and practical handbooks covering various topics such as Child Safety on Farms and Older Farmer Safety.

The MOFS farm safety visits are your tool to improve safety on your farm, with a personalised approach.

During the visit, MOFS Senior Farm Safety Advisor, Paul Wearing will head out to your farm and walk through any areas of concern or question.

Paul will help you identify risks, improve safety procedures on your farm, and create a plan to help put these suggestions in place.

Farm visits are non-regulatory, friendly, and a fantastic way to learn how you can create a safer working environment on your property.

Book a visit to your farm today through the Farm Safety Visit tab on the MOFS website.

Mental wellbeing is at the forefront of MOFS’ focus, with a new Farm Mental Health Handbook to be released this November.

The handbook has been written in collaboration with farmers, and steering committee, comprised of people with experience in rural mental health support.

The by-famer-for-farmer book is filled with information to help farmers learn what mental health is and is not, and how to recognize in both themselves and others where their mindset may be at.

Along with this are easy to follow activities to help create mindful habits, and create space to speak openly about mental well-being.
