Third on property bull sale for Moorunga Angus

MOORUNGA Angus will hold its third on property bull sale on Friday August 23.

This sale draft will contain the first bulls for sale in Australia from Brown Double Decker 004 and Banquet Raving R67.

Brown Double Decker was bred by Browns Angus Ranch in North Dakota.

His semen was imported in collaboration with Summit Livestock from Crookwell, New South Wales and he has remained exclusive to the two Angus herds.

“Double Decker is a bull with extra size, length, muscle and growth,” said Hayden Green of Summit Livestock.

"His performance is hard to beat in all areas that drive profit.

"His soundness, eye appeal, perfect feet and friendly disposition make him a hard sire to go past."

Double Decker is sired by Hoover No Doubt and his dam is a full sister to the incredible Blackcap May 4136 (dam of sires such as SAV Rainfall, President, Raindance, Renown, Resource and more).

The Double Decker progeny at Moorunga have been easy calving, moderate and soft with great carcase attributes as well as early shedding.

Banquet Raving is a son of the super sire, Banquet Nutella that Moorunga purchased from the Banquet Angus sale in 2022 for $60,000.

"He is our current walking sire and will be on display at the sale.

"He has a beautiful kind nature, great feet and exceptional depth and length," said Glenn Trout of Moorunga Angus.

“The majority of the bulls are out of our Anvil and Texas cows which are still sound and breeding at up to 13 years old.

"The daughters of these two sires will the foundation of the Moorunga herd going forward.”

The bulls are pesti-tested negative and vaccinated with 7in1, Pestigard and Vibrovax.

They are also genomic-tested, parent-verified and will all be semen tested prior to sale.

Online bidding will be available via Auctions Plus.

The bull viewing open day will be on Friday August 16, but private inspections are always welcome.
