WHEN Australian Pump Industries launched their 'self priming revolution', it didn't take long for pump dealers around the country to realise what a gift it was for end users.
The ability to hook up the suction hose, simply fill the pump bowl with water and then start the electric motor is a major breakthrough in convenience.

Aussie also introduced a 22 kW 3" semi trash pump that delivers up to 87 metres head, that's over 100 psi in terms of pressure, in the form of their new model B3ZPM–A/ST series.
That pump, designed originally for transferring waste effluent to the paddock, set a new standard for trash pump performance and value for money.
"We know that abrasion can cause excessive pump wear in effluent applications," said chief engineer, John Hales.
"To combat that, we've introduced optional 316 stainless steel impellers for most of the range.
"They are being used in applications as diverse as concrete batch plants and even exploration drill rigs."
Small but mighty
The latest addition is small utility semi trash pump (1 ½" ports) designed for jobs requiring flows of no more than 200 or 300 litres per minute.
Called the B1.5KQ–A/ST series, pumps are available in both 240 volt and 415 volt close coupled configuration.
These mono block units are particularly cost effective and with Aussie putting them on the market for only $1,392 + GST.
They are cast iron and have all the same features and the rest of the range including a stainless wear plate, silicon carbide seals and of course their unique self priming ability.

The cast iron motor pumps are also available in cast 316 stainless steel with ports up to 4".
They deliver the same performance as the cast iron equivalent.
316 stainless steel is both corrosion and abrasion resistant and will handle caustics, whey and other corrosive liquids that are involved in the dairy industry.
Engine drive trash pumps
Climate change is out there and can't be ignored.
That means dairies will face occasional power issues.
Many operators are looking to engine drive trash pumps to cover these emergency situations.

Both the 4" and 6" trash pumps can also perform, like their electric motor equivalents, as very effective aerators in wastewater settling ponds.
