ALPINE Shire Council invites farmers in the Kiewa Valley and Upper Ovens Valley to attend workshops focused on supporting people to plan for emergency events.
Council is holding two free workshops across Mount Beauty and Myrtleford in February to help farmers and farming enterprises prepare for emergencies to their properties, assets, and businesses.
The first 72 hours of a disaster can be an unpredictable time, where people may be unable to access emergency services.
By having a plan in place, farmers can work towards protecting their assets and future-proofing their businesses.
Thee workshops will be held at the Mount Beauty Community Centre at 10am – 12pm on Wednesday, February 12; bookings at https://events.humanitix.com/the-first-72-hours-free-workshop-to-help-farmers-prepare and;

The First 72 Hours is delivered by Alpine Shire Council and Moira Shire Council in conjunction with the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES), and Albury Wodonga Ethnic Communities Council (AWECC) and in consultation with the Hume Region Municipal Emergency Management Enhancement Group.
