ONE of Australia media's favourite meteorologists and weather presenters Jane Bunn will team up with TAFCO to bring hyper-local AI-powered weather forecasting in agriculture to farmers across North East Victoria.
The Jane’s Weather and TAFCO partnership integrates TAFCO’s trusted network of weather stations with 'Jane’s Weather PRO', providing farmers with the most accurate weather forecast in agriculture to support critical farm decisions.
Forecasting can now be received based on each of the individual TAFCO weather station sites (Myrtleford, Porepunkah, Whorouly, Beechworth, King Valley, Rosewhite and Coral Bank).
The network will be adding more locations in the future.
TAFCO is delighted to host a mini weather Expo, on site on Saturday, February 22 between midday and 3pm.

"Hyper-local forecasts have always been the missing piece for farmers in unique climates like North East Victoria," Jane Bunn, founder of Jane’s Weather said.
"By working with TAFCO and their strong regional presence, we can ensure that more farmers get the most accurate weather data for their exact location, with our unique agricultural forecasts to help manage weather risks with confidence."
For over 35 years, TAFCO has been a cornerstone of the agricultural community in North East Victoria, supporting over 800 farmers across the Ovens, Kiewa, and King Valleys.
Originally formed to assist tobacco growers, TAFCO has since expanded to serve broadacre, horticulture, viticulture, and livestock producers, providing rural supplies, agronomic services, and a trusted network of weather stations delivering vital localised weather forecasts in agriculture.
The Jane’s Weather and TAFCO partnership was sparked by a forward-thinking TAFCO community member who had signed up for Jane’s Weather PRO and inquired about integrating their local TAFCO weather station into the Jane’s Weather AI Forecast.
Located far from Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) stations, certain areas of North East Victoria have long struggled with inconsistent and unreliable forecasts due to gaps in weather observation data.
Now, through Jane’s Weather’s advanced AI forecasting, combined with real-time data from TAFCO’s weather station network, farmers can access hyper-local, accurate, and AI-driven forecasts to make smarter decisions around weather on farm.
By integrating TAFCO’s extensive weather station network into Jane’s Weather AI Forecast, farmers in the Ovens, Kiewa and King Valleys now have access to:
* Accurate Ag-Specific Weather Forecasts: Tailor-made for agriculture forecasts to help farmers plan irrigation, protect crops and optimise spraying windows.
* Custom Alerts & Notifications: Real-time insights into wind, temperature and weather risks specific for your operations for improved farm planning.
* Weather Insights Tailored to Unique Microclimates: Delivering more accurate, more frequent localised weather forecasts in agriculture, even when official weather stations are lacking.
* Seamless Weather Station Integration: Farmers can further enhance their forecasts by directly purchasing their own weather station.
