GAPSTED Estate tasted success at the 2024 Royal Queensland Wine Awards, with its Alpine Road 2023 Pinot Grigio awarded Best Pinot Gris/Grigio Wine of Show.
Andrew Santarossa, CEO and chief winemaker at the family-owned winery on the Great Alpine Road, said his team was "incredibly proud of this achievement".
"Winning the Trophy for Best Pinot Gris/Grigio Wine of Show at the Royal Queensland Wine Awards is a recognition of our relentless pursuit of excellence," he said.

Mr Santarossa said Pinot Grigio is a variety known for its versatility and refreshing character, and is continuing to gain popularity in Australia.

He said the Alpine Road 2023 Pinot Grigio exemplifies the variety's qualities with its zesty acidity, vibrant fruit flavours and crisp finish.
