A MAN has died following a stabbing on Vincent Road late Sunday night, with a Wangaratta woman taken into custody.
Police say an altercation occurred at the Wangaratta address about 11:30pm, when a 42-year-old Wangaratta man was taken to hospital, dying several hours later.
A police spokesperson said a 47-year-old Wangaratta woman was arrested and taken into custody where she will be interviewed in relation to the death.
“Police will allege those involved were known to each other,” they said.
“A crime scene has been established, and Homicide Squad detectives will investigate to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

The incident followed an unrelated alleged fatal stabbing in Seymour on 29 March.
A 41-year-old Seymour man was charged with the murder of the 28-year-old male victim and will face Seymour Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
