DESPITE some healthy competition in the Euroa Show's poultry section last month, the chooks weren’t the only ones getting the awards this season.
Two members of Euroa and District Poultry Club were recently presented with the prestigious honour of being awarded as Melbourne Royal Show lifetime members for all their hard work and dedication.
Longtime club members Neil Penny and Megg Miller were both honoured with the same lifetime membership.
The awards didn’t stop with the memberships, with Michael Holmes taking home the top spot of Champion Bird in Show, with wife Kathy taking home Reserve Champion, and still in the family, Michael’s father Rolly also walking home awarded for his birds.
Growing up in Violet Town, Michael was made the president of the poultry club at the young age of 21.
